2007 Advance word from the cantines in Campania is that 2007 was the best year they have had in over ten years. I am also hearing similar reports from other regions. More when I know it... 2006 This was very similar to the year before, but if anything it was better, particularly for the south and their whites. It was a warm summer without damaging rains nor high temperatures. 8.5/10 for Reds, 9/10 for Whites 2005 It was a good season for wine, particularly for whites. The temperatures and rains were not excessive for the grapes but the season favoured whites over reds varieties. 8.5/10 for Reds, 9/10 for Whites 2004 All the factors for exceptional wine were in place, there were no excessive heat during the summer, no cold spells at any stage and an exemplary September created optimal conditions for late maturing Aglianico. 9/10 for Reds, 8.5/10 for Whites 2003 This season was typified by little rain and high temperatures, however they were not exceptional for many of the vines of Campania, which coped well. Reds did well, but many whites were affected by the heat. 8.5/10 Red, 8 White 2002 Generally a poor year with rain causing problems for many. However whites faired much better than reds who were worse effected. 4.5/10 Red, 8/10 White 2001 A very good year for both red and whites in Campania. Generally regarded as being the best year since '97 for all wines. 9/10 Red, 9/10 White 2000 A very hot year with little rain fall, normal growing conditions for the South, though reds coped better than whites 9/10 Red, 8/10 White
