Ferrara Wine and Food is the creation of Paul Coffey and Enrica Ferrara, a husband and wife team who want to import fine Italian wines and make them more accessible to people in Ireland at prices comparable to what they cost in Italy. 

For example, consider Villa Matilde.  We provide a selection of their best quality wines such as their Greco di Tufo, which we sell for €12.50.  Enowine retails the same wine for €18.99 because when you purchase wine from them there are more middle men.  This means that if Enowine sold Villa Matildes finest wines: Caracci and Camarato they would cost €21.50 & €39 respectively.  Instead we are able to sell them for €14 and €26.  We hope the value we provide will be recognised and that people will enjoy these fine Italian wines at respectable prices.

How we Started

Over the years we had come across many wonderful wines from the South of Italy, and Campania in particular, that just weren't available in Ireland.  We started bringing back some wines for our family and friends, and their response was fantastic.  We felt that we should try and fulfil our dream and start working with our passion for Italian wines and food.

Initially focusing on wines from Campania because Enrica is from Napoli, the capital of the Campania region, we have been slowly growing to include wines from all over Italy, and hope to soon have the most comprehensive list of Italian wines in Ireland.

Italy is currently the most exciting country in the world producing wine, with the most modern wine making techniques standing along side a tradition that is unmatched.  Italy's wine industry has undergone a revolution since the early 1980's, and now with over 500 indigenous grape varieties producing some of the most iconic wines in the world including Barolo, Chianti, Amarone as well as many not so well know classics such as Taurasi and Sangratino.  And this says nothing of the international varieties producing Super Tuscans and other boutique wines, we truly believe that Italy offers exceptional quality and diversity.

Our aim is to provide all the main regional varieties of wines as well as many other little know wines of high quality direct from the cantine to the customer.  We want to guarantee excellent quality at the best possible price.  Buying direct from the wine maker and selling direct to the customer means we are selling our wines at wholesale prices, in fact some of our wines are cheaper through us that if you bought them in Italy yourself.
