The wine cellar of Cantine Farro (Farro del Fusaro)  was founded in 1926 in the Bacoli region, part of Campi Flegrei.  Cantine Farro is currently run by Michele Farro and comprises a total of seven communes throughout the Campi Flegrei area.

Campi Felgrei is the name of an extinct volcano west of Naples and the land and peninsula that it forms.  It's soil is derived from volcanic eruptions which determine the aromas and tastes which make these wines so unique.

The volcanic nature of the soil has preserved the vines from the Phylloxera plague that ravaged Europe in the 19th century.  The grapes saved in this way are described by oenologists "a piede franco" as being original and not drafted.

Cantine Farro dedicates all its efforts to two grape varieties, the red Piedirosso and the white Falanghina.
